The specifications for application management and control has been released, showing a set of very exiting features. Applications must still be installed by the user, but:
- Applications can be removed from devices under MDM
- Application can be linked to the MDM profile, ensuring that all corporate data are removed in one operation
- Backup of application data can be restricted
Furthermore, the functionality can be used to manage both enterprise apps as well as applications available from the AppStore.
The new features will be available in both MobileIron and Sybase Afaria within the next couple of months.
